Warhorse Studios is Czech video game developer founded in 2011.[2] It was founded by a group of experienced veterans[3] of gaming industry:
- Daniel Vávra (ex-2K Czech - Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven, Mafia II) - game designer, screen writer.[4]
- Martin Klíma (ex-Altar Games - Fish Fillets, Original War, UFO trilogy; ex-Codemasters - Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising) - executive producer
- Viktor Bocan (ex-Bohemia Interactive - Operation Flashpoint, ARMA: Armed Assault; multiple games for Nintendo DS, XBLA, iPhone etc.) - game designer, screenwriter
- Zbyněk Trávnický (Mafia and Mafia II; Perfume: The Story of a Murderer, Tristan + Isolde) - animator and CG/FX specialist
- Roman Zawada - lead graphic artist (ex-Bohemia Interactive and Crytek)
- Tomáš Blaho - lead programmer (ex-2K Czech and Playground Studios)
The official name of the company is Prague Game Studios,[5] a company which uses Warhorse as a trademark. Renaming the company itself to Warhorse was expected and happened on July 8, 2014.[6] At the end of 2011, ownership equity of PGS amounted to CZK 240 thousand (3% of assets).[7] As of October 2, 2014, ownership equity of Warhorse Studios s.r.o. is 200.000,- CZK with shares distributed as follows: Zdeněk Bakala 70%, Daniel Vávra 17%, Martin Klíma 13%.[8]
Upcoming projects
The studio is currently developing Kingdom Come: Deliverance, an open-world historical role-playing game game. The game runs on CryEngine 3[9] and aims for PC and next generation consoles (mentioned as Xbox One and PlayStation 4). Story of this game should take place in medieval Europe, specifically at the time of Hussites. The game is currently slated for release in Q2/Q3 of 2016.[10]
