The song is produced by Mitch Allan and co-written by Jessie James, American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi, Mitch Allan (Faith Hill, Daughtry) and David Hodges (Kelly Clarkson, Evanescence).[1]
"Wanted" was officially released on Top 40/Contemporary hit radio stations from United States on April 14, and 22 stations added the song on this week. It debuted on Australian radio's on April 27, 2009. "Wanted" was released on iTunes on May 12. The song has sold 336,750 digital copies as of August 20, 2009.
Critical reception
In a review for the song, Billboard's said that James had "what it takes to make a name for herself."[2]Music video
The music video of "Wanted" was shot on March 28, in Los Angeles. Actor Erik Von Detten makes a cameo in the video as a police officer that chases after Jessie through a series of events and eventually "captures" her in a diner before leading her to his vehicle where they proceed to kiss. The music video was directed by Travis Kopach. The music video was released to iTunes on April 27, 2009 and was featured as the Free Music Video of the Week from May 5 to May 11.

The song has sold 336,750 digital copies as of August 20, 2009. "Wanted" peaked at 40 on the Billboard Hot 100, giving James her first top 40 hit.
