Dato' Wan Mohammad Khair-il Anuar Wan Ahmad (born 16 January 1960) is a Malaysian politician, architect and entrepreneur. He is a native of Kuala Kangsar, Perak. Wan Khair-il Anuar is a member of United Malays National Organisation(UMNO) in Malaysia's ruling Barisan Nasional coalition. Currently, he is a member of the Parliament of Malaysia for the seat of Kuala Kangsar after defeating candidates from Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS) Khalil Idham Abdullah and a former UMNO Women's Deputy Chief Datuk Kamilia Ibrahim with the majority of 1,082 votes in Malaysian general election, 2013.[1]

Before winning the seat in Parliament, Wan Khair-il Anuar was elected as a member of Perak State Legislative Assembly for seat Bukit Chandan in Malaysian general election, 2008 with the majority 1,694..

Education

Wan Khair-il Anuar received his primary education in Sekolah Kebangsaan Clifford, Kuala Kangsar from 1967-1972.[2] During his secondary education, he went to three different schools which is Sekolah Menengah Clifford, Sekolah Menengah Anderson and Sungai Petani Science School (Boarding School) in Kedah.[3]

With an excellent achievement during his secondary education, Wan Khair-il Anuar was sent by the government to further his studies in architecture abroad. His first stop is the City College Plymouth, where he obtained distinction in his "A level" program.[4] Then, he was accepted to the Kingston University where he was awarded a BA (Hons) Architecture and Master in Architecture.[5]

Professional Membership

Wan Khair-il Anuar was inducted into various professional organization. In 1990, he became the member of PAM (Pertubuhan Arkitek Malaysia), followed by RIBA Royal Institute of British Architects in 1992 and IPDM (Institut Perekabentuk Dalaman Malaysia) in 1995.[6]

Others

Other than actively involve in politics, Wan Khair-il Anuar was appointed as Chairman of Malaysian Palm Oil Board.[7] He also a board members of public listed company, Damansara Realty Berhad. As a successful architect, he also has its own architect firm, W&W Architects which is based in Kuala Lumpur.
