Awards Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross

Walter Curt Gustav Schilling (23 December 1895 – 20 July 1943) was a highly decorated Generalleutnant in the Wehrmacht during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Walter Schilling was killed on 20 July 1943 near Izium. He was posthumously awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross on 28 July 1943.
