Walter Edgeworth-Johnstone

Walter Edgeworth-Johnstone, KBE (1863–1936), of the Royal Irish Regiment was the 1895 and 1896 Amateur Boxing Association of England heavyweight champion. He was Chief Commissioner of the Dublin Metropolitan Police from 1915 to 1923.[1]

Biography

He was born in 1863 in Kingstown, county Dublin, Ireland.[2] In 1895 and 1896 Amateur Boxing Association of England heavyweight champion. He was Chief Commissioner of the Dublin Metropolitan Police from 1915 to 1923.[1] He was awarded a KBE in 1924, and promoted to colonel. Edgeworth-Johnstone died in 1936.[1]
