Walgherton

Coordinates: 53°02′13″N 2°27′07″W / 53.037°N 2.452°W / 53.037; -2.452 Walgherton is a village (at SJ697489) and civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire East and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. The village lies 3½ miles to the south east of Nantwich and 4½ miles to the south of Crewe. It also includes the settlement of Hussey's Nook.^[1] Nearby villages include Hatherton, Stapeley and Wybunbury. The A51 road runs east–west through the parish.

According to the 2001 census, the parish had a population of 121.^[2]

Governance

From 1974 the civil parish was served by Crewe and Nantwich Borough Council, which was succeeded on 1 April 2009 by the new unitary authority of Cheshire East.^[3] Walgherton falls in the parliamentary constituency of Crewe and Nantwich,^[4] which has been represented by Edward Timpson since a by-election in 2008.
