The Wales national under-19 football team is the national under-19 football team of Wales and is controlled by the Football Association of Wales. The team competes in the UEFA European Under-19 Football Championship held every year.
Recent history
The under-19 squad has not been extremely successful in recent years but has become a proving ground for talented youngsters. In recent years full international players like Gareth Bale, Joe Allen, and Wayne Hennessey, as well as most of the current Wales U21 side, have progressed through the team.

Players born on or after 1 January 1997 are eligible for the 2016 UEFA European Under-19 Championship. Caps and goals correct as of 21 April 2015. Players in bold have attained full international caps. Clubs as of the date of the announcement.
Under-19 squad called up for the friendly match against Germany on 21 April 2015 in preparation for the 2016 UEFA European Under-19 Championship qualifying round. James Graham, Daniel James and Will Abbotts withdrew and were replaced by Joe Rodon, Tom Fry and Tom Shepherd.[1]

2016 UEFA Under-19 Championship Qualification Round
Georgia will host qualification round fixtures on on 12th, 14th and 17th November 2015. The top two teams of each group and the third-placed team with the best record against the top two will join Spain for the Elite Round in Spring 2016. Seven teams will qualify from the Elite Round and join hosts Germany in the final tournament.[2]
