Wade Fox

Wade R. Fox (1920–1964) was a U.S. zoologist and herpetologist from the University of California, Berkeley. He specialized in the anatomy of snakes and the systematics of the western Garter snakes.

Biography

Wade Fox was Curatorial Assistant of Herpetology in the University of California, Berkeley in 1943–1949 and PhD student of Robert C. Stebbins in 1946–1950. The dissertation topic was “Biology of the Garter Snakes of the San Francisco Bay Region”.[1] Later he bacame President of Herpetologists' League and one of editors of Copeia.[2]

Wade Fox died of a heart attack in 1964.[2]
