WSOL-FM, branded V101.5, is a radio station licensed to Brunswick, Georgia that broadcasts on 101.5 FM. Owned and operated by iHeartMedia, Inc., it broadcasts an urban adult contemporary format for the Jacksonville and Brunswick areas. The station's studios are located on Central Parkway in Jacksonville's Southside section, and the transmitter is in the Kingsland, Georgia.

Programming and history

WSOL has been in its current format since the late 1990s, playing a variety (thus the "V"-brand) Old School/Soul and current R&B music. It is home to the nationally syndicated Tom Joyner Morning Show. Its only other competitor is its own sister station, Urban WJBT.

WSOL was also the original call letter home of Rhythmic Contemporary WHJX during the late 1980s to the mid-1990s, when it was known as "Hot 101.5." When that came under common ownership with WJBT, 101.5 tilted the format from rhythmic (urban crossover) to Urban AC and changed its name, calls and branding to counter compete.

Before 1989 and a facility and power upgrade, the station operated as a lower-powered station serving Brunswick, Georgia called WPIQ.

On November 21, 2014, WSOL-FM shifted their format to classic hip hop.[1]
