WLRI-LP (92.9 FM) is a low-power FM radio station licensed to serve Gap, Pennsylvania. The station is owned by and licensed to LanChester Radio Information, Inc. It airs Pacifica Radio Netowork and News/Talk programming.[2]
Station history
WLRI 93FM is a full service, Low Powered FM station based in Gap, Pennsylvania.
WLRI's construction permit was granted on 10/16/2003 and initial broadcast took place shortly thereafter.
In the fall of 2009 WLRI began reading the Intelligencer Journal and Lancaster New Era newspapers on the air, under an exclusive agreement with Lancaster Newspapers, Inc., ( Now known as "LNP Media Group" ). In the summer of 2010 WLRI began reading the "Sunday News" newspaper. All three newspapers were renamed in 2014 and now go by "LNP." and "LNP Sunday News" respectively.
On July 12, 2013 WLRI-LP switched format to "All News". Programming from the station's network (Pacifica Radio Network) and other community and non-commercial sources worldwide accompany live "in studio" news, weather, traffic and developing situation reports. Additional programming offerings from Pacifica Radio Network supplement late evening, overnight and majority of weekend on-air programming.
On March 17, 2015 LRI, Inc. filed for a new construction permit to relocate the transmitter and dramatically improve overall service area. The application was granted by the Federal Communications Commission on March 19, 2015.
Network Affiliations
10/01/2010 WLRI 93FM officially became the first, and only Pacifica Radio Network station in Southeastern Pennsylvania.
