WIAV-CD or WIAV-CD 58.1 is a low-power, class A, independent television station licensed to Washington, D.C., broadcasting on channel 44 on the UHF band. The station is wholly owned and operated by AsiaVision, Inc., which owns a small network of low-power stations in the Mid-Atlantic Region, including WRAV-LP, channel 8 in Ocean City, Maryland, and WQAV-CD, channel 34 in Glassboro, New Jersey. TV 58 is based in the Washington, DC metropolitan area and is the anchor station of the Asia Vision TV Network. Various local, national and international broadcasters provide most of the programming.
In the mid-1990s, the station, which originally had the call letters W58BR, became a Network One N1 affiliate, offering entertainment that included music videos, out-of-town public-access television cable TV programming, and late night B-Movies.
Later, the station aired Asian programming during the evening, including a documentary series on Tahitian Noni Juice (R) Products, musical programs, documentaries, Real Estate programs, religious programming, and other paid programming. It was slated to air cartoons and children's programs.
Upon returning to the air on September 25, 2013, it aired programming from Deutsche Welle Latino America mixed with local programming.
