WFYE is a Hot Adult Contemporary formatted broadcast radio station licensed to Glade Spring, Virginia, serving Smyth and Washington counties in Virginia. WFYE is owned and operated by HB Radio, LLC.[1]

Frequency

WFYE-FM was a 2006 FCC Auction 62 radio station CP (construction permit) on the FM dial started by owners Alan and Brookley Sneed. In 2005 ASRadio, LLC had a JSA with Holston Valley Broadcasting to sell time on their sister station WEYE-FM. By March of 2006, the JSA with Holston Valley Broadcasting was dissolved and then PD/Operations Manager David DeFranzo took over as ASRadio, LLC's market manager. With the help of engineer Charles Lawson, WFYE signed on in September of 2008 as a Classic Hits Station licensed to Glade Spring, Virginia.

Before WFYE's debut, the station was set to launch on 102.7 FM, with 102.5 WOLD moving down to 100.5 FM, however, after the move of 102.7 WVEK to Weber City, VA, WFYE signed on at 100.5 FM.

On March 15, 2012, ASRadio, LLC entered into an agreement to sell WFYE to HB Radio, LLC for $155,000.[2] The purchase was consummated on May 16, 2012.[3]
