WATX (1600 AM, "NewsTalk 1600") is a radio station licensed to Algood, Tennessee, USA, the station serves the Cookeville area. The station is currently owned by Jwc Broadcasting.[1]

History

The station went on the air as WRZK on 22 June 1981. On 1 June 1983, the station changed its call sign to WWRT, and on 15 January 1990 to the current WATX.[2] WATX originally broadcast moved to 1600. WATX-FM
