Voyage to the Iron Reef is a 4D interactive dark ride currently under construction at the Knott's Berry Farm amusement park located in California, United States. The attraction will be the second of its kind in the Cedar Fair chain, following Wonder Mountain's Guardian which opened at Canada's Wonderland in 2014.
Ride experience
Riders battle against the "Queen of the Kraken" and her army as the Queen attempts to destroy the park's iconic attractions in an attempt to salvage the steel. The goal for the riders is to save the attractions.[1][2] One cycle of the ride will last approximately four minutes.[1]
Characteristics
Voyage to the Iron Reef will use approximately 600 feet (180 m) of track. There will be six scenes using a combined total of eleven screens varying from 20 feet (6.1 m) to 70 feet (21 m) in length. As the ride transitions between scenes, physical props will be used; unlike Wonder Mountain's Guardian.[3]
Theme
In 2013, when Knott's Berry Farm expanded the boardwalk area with multiple attractions, including Coast Rider, the land below was disturbed causing the creatures that lived underneath to seek revenge.[2]
