In the Dungeons & Dragons fantasy roleplaying game, the voadkyn is a giant.

Publication history

The wood giant first appeared in Dragon #119 (March 1987).[1]

The voadkyn appeared in the second edition in the Monstrous Compendium Greyhawk Appendix (1990) under the "giant-kin" heading,[2] and reprinted in the Monstrous Manual (1993) under the "giant" heading.[3] The voadkyn was presented as a player character race in The Complete Book of Humanoids (1993),[4] The voadkyn was presented as a player character race for the Forgotten Realms setting in Giantcraft (1993).[5]

Description

The voadkyn is also known as a "wood giant." Voadkyn resemble wood elves, and have a kinship with them. They have the ability to magically disguise themselves as any humanoid or giant creature.

A voadkyn is usually chaotic good in alignment. Voadkyn live in temperate and warm forests.

Voadkyn primarily worship the goddess Hiatea.

The wood giant appeared under the "giant" heading in the Tome of Horrors (2002) from Necromancer Games.[6]
