Vladimir Petrovich Yevtushenkov (Evtushenkov) (Russian: Владимир Петрович Евтушенков; born 25 September 1948) is a Russian tycoon with personal wealth of $8.3 billion as of 2014.

Biography

He is the major shareholder and President of the large Russian holding company Sistema. In March 2006, he controlled 62% of the shares in Sistema.[1] Yevtushenkov is the owner of the Russian company Sitronics.

Yevtushenkov has Masters degrees in Chemistry (1973) and Economics (1980), and a PhD in Economics (1986).

He is married with two children.

In September 2014 Russian investigators placed Vladimir Yevtushenkov under house arrest, accusing him of money-laundering in connection with the acquisition of shares in oil producer Bashneft.[2]

Yevtushenkov, in 2014, according to Forbes, is Russia's 15th richest businessman with a fortune of around £5.5bn($8.3bn). A report in Izvestiya said he had been fitted with an electronic bracelet around his ankle. He was banned from leaving his home, speaking with anyone except his lawyers, and using the telephone or internet.[3][4] He was released in December 2014, following the nationalization of oil producer Bashneft's assets. He remains in control of Sistema, stripped of the holdings which were considered a part of Bashneft.
