Vizagapatam District (Madras Presidency)
Vizagapatam District was a district in the Madras Presidency of British India. Covering an area of 44,600 square kilometres (17,222 sq mi) and sub-divided into 22 taluks.
History
Vizapatam district, which included the Vizagapatam Hill-Tracts Agency, was, till the formation of Orissa province in 1936, the largest district in British India. It covered the areas of the present-day districts of Visakhapatnam and Vizianagaram in Andhra Pradesh and the districts of Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangapur and Rayagada in present-day Orissa. The headquarters was the town of Vizagapatam, now known as Visakhapatnam.

Vizagapatam district was sub-divided into 22 taluks some of whom were agencies.
