Vivekananda College, established in 1950 as Barisha College, is an undergraduate college in Thakurpukur, West Bengal, India. It is affiliated with the University of Calcutta.[1]

In June 1956, Vivekananda College was sponsored by the State Government and upgraded to Degree College status, and renamed to Vivekananda College, in honour of Swami Vivekananda.[2] Due to a lack of space, the college moved from Barisha in 1959 to Thakurpukur, with the previous site being used for the women's section.[2] In 1961, the women's section became the independent Vivekananda College for Women.[2]
