Vinod Bharathan is an award winning Indian filmmaker based in Copenhagen. Educated in filmmaking from film schools in Copenhagen, Vinod’s films show strong influence of his European Avant-garde mentors like Nicholas Winding Refn and Gaspar Noé.
He is known for his radical approach to filmmaking. Often working with a very minimal and tight team, he restrains himself from the luxuries of film production. He is behind the cinematography and editing of most of his films. He is also known for experimenting formats of cinematography. Limbo,[1] a short film he shot using an iPhone was awarded Best Film at Indie Fone Fest, U.S.A. and Sony Circuito Off, Venice 2012. Karma Cartel which is his debut film had a two-member crew and was shot on HDV using Canon XH A1.
