Victor Alvarez (Puerto Rican)

A Puerto Rican convert to Islam, Victor Alvarez was one of 11 men arrested as conspirators after Emad Salem testified against his group of comrades, claiming they had intended to bomb multiple targets in New York in 1993.[1]

Borderline mentally retarded, Alvarez struggled with a cocaine addiction, and was in charge of purchasing a machine gun with which the group could hold off police long enough to effect an escape after their intended bombings.[1]
