The Vicariate Apostolic of Napo (Latin: Apostolicus Vicariatus Napensis) in the Catholic Church is located in the city of Tena, Napo Province in Ecuador.
History
On 7 February 1871 Pope Pius IX established the Vicariate Apostolic of Napo from the Archdiocese of Quito. It has lost territory five times with the creation of the following jurisdiction: Prefecture Apostolic of Canelos e Macas (1886), Vicariate Apostolic of Méndez y Gualaquiza (1893), Vicariate Apostolic of Zamora (1893), Prefecture Apostolic of San Miguel de Sucumbíos (1924) and the Prefecture Apostolic of Aguarico (1953).[1][2]
