Vertex is a call centre operator that also offers a variety of other business process outsourcing (BPO) and customer management outsourcing services.[2][3][4] This British firm has reflected general trends in the industry over the past decade by having more of its services provisioned from India and by marrying its call centre operations with debt collection services.[5]

Acquisition/Disposal

The company acquired Indian call centre operator and BPO provider Shell Transource Limited in 2010.[6] Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Since 2011, Vertex has sold off multiple business units. In September 2011, Vertex sold their private sector businesses to Capita plc for approximately £40 million. In December 2011, local managers bought out the Australian business unit (financial terms were not disclosed). In June 2012, Vertex sold their public sector business to Serco for approximately £55 million.
