Vera Pawlowsky-Glahn

Vera Pawlowsky-Glahn is a Spanish mathematician. She is currently a full professor at the Departament d'Informàtica, Matemàtica Aplicada, i Estadística at the Universitat de Girona, Spain. Her main areas of research interest include statistical analysis of compositional data, algebraic-geometric approach to statistical inference, and spatial cluster analysis. She was the president of International Association for Mathematical Geosciences during 2008-2012. She was awarded the William Christian Krumbein Medal, IAMG Distinguished Lectureship, John Cedric Griffiths Teaching Award by the International Association for Mathematical Geosciences respectively in 2006, 2007, and 2008.
