Vera G. List

Vera G. List (1908 Fall River, Massachusetts - October 10, 2002 Greenwich, Connecticut) was an American art collector, and philanthropist. She was awarded a 1996 National Medal of Arts.

Life

She grew up in Brookline, Massachusetts. She attended Simmons College. She married Albert A. List, in 1930. They moved to New York City, in 1945. She had four daughters and ten grandchildren.

Philanthropy

She gave to the Metropolitan Opera, Mount Sinai Hospital, the Jewish Theological Seminary, the Jewish Museum, New School University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology,[1] Brown University, Swarthmore College, and American Academy in Berlin. She help found the New Museum of Contemporary Art.[2]
