Venolyn Clarke-Spencer (born Venolyn Clarke; 11 July 1967 in Jamaica) is a Canadian sprinter and teacher, who specialized in the 100 metres.
Career
Sprinting
Clarke reached the quarter-final at the 2001 World Championships. It was later revealed that at a World Championships pre-camp, Clarke had tested positive for stanozolol.[1] She refused to apologize and denied that she used any type of steroids. She was the first athlete to fail a drugs test at the 2001 World Championships.
Teaching
Before 2008, Clake taught at Legacy Public School. Since 2008, Clarke has been teaching and coaching at Unionville Meadows Public School. She currently coaches cross country and other events at Unionville Meadows Public School.
Personal best
Clarke's personal best time was 11.29 seconds, achieved in July 2001 in Ottawa.
