Venero Armanno (born 19 August 1959) is an Australian novelist. He was born in Brisbane of Sicilian parents.[1] He received a BA from the University of Queensland, and later an MA and PhD in Creative Writing from the Queensland University of Technology.[1] Armanno completed fourteen unpublished manuscripts before being accepted for publication.[2]

He is currently a Senior Lecturer in the School of English, Media Studies and Art History at the University of Queensland,[3] where he received the 2004 award for excellence in teaching.[4]
