Ved Marwah

Ved Prakash Marwah (born 15 September 1932) is a former governor of Manipur,[1] Mizoram and Jharkhand.

He was born in Peshawar, British India. Son of Faqirchand Marwah, he immigrated to India after partition. A former member of the Indian Police Service, Marwah has held assignments in different states in India during his 36-year career, including Commissioner of Police, Delhi; Director General of the National Security Guard; and Adviser to the Governors in Jammu & Kashmir and Bihar.

Marwah served as governor of Manipur from 1999 to 2003, governor of Mizoram from 2000 to 2001, and governor of Jharkhand from 2003 to 2004.

He wrote the book Uncivil Wars: Pathology of Terrorism in India. Marwah is on the governing council of the Asian Academy Of Film And Television.
