Valor Christian College (formerly World Harvest Bible College) is a private Bible college associated with the World Harvest Church. The campus is located in Canal Winchester, Ohio, approximately 15 miles (24 km) southeast of Columbus, Ohio, on property originally built by World Harvest Church. It is accredited with the Association of Independent Christian Colleges & Seminaries, which is not recognized by the United States Department of Education,[1] and has applicant status with The Association for Biblical Higher Education.[2] The college is authorized by the Ohio State Board of Career Colleges and Schools to offer Associate of Applied Science degrees and diplomas in Bible and ministry-related studies.[3]
History
The college was founded in 1990 by Rodney Lee Parsley, pastor of the World Harvest Church, for which the college was originally named after as World Harvest Bible Institute.[4] New programs were added in the following years and in 1993 the name was changed to World Harvest Bible College.[4] In the fall of 2009, the college was approved by the Ohio State Board of Career Colleges and Schools to offer Associate of Applied Science degrees and the college changed its name to Valor Christian College the following year in January 2010.[4]
Academics
Valor Christian College academic programs place a strong concentration biblical foundations and tools to use in ministry activities through classroom study and hands-on experiences in a variety of ministry areas.[5] The college offers one-year certificate programs in Evangelism and General Studies as well as Associate of Applied Science degrees in eight programs:Advanced Leadership (third-year honors program), Evangelism, Interdisciplinary Studies, Media Ministries, Missions, Music Ministry, Pastoral Leadership, and Youth Ministries.[5]
Athletics
The college is a member of the Ohio Collegiate Athletic Conference (USCAA) and competes within the Ohio Collegiate Athletic Conference (OCAC) in men's and women's basketball as well as men's soccer.[6]
