Valod
Valod (Gujarati: વાલોડ) is a small town situated midway between Bardoli and Vyara, in Tapi district in the Indian state of Gujarat. Valod is located about 50 km east of Surat. National Highway 6 passes through Valod.
Valod is the town name known from the valmiki the great writer of ramayan and other religious books known to the Hindu believers. the town itself became more famous for the agriculture college based at vedchi vidhyapith. Most people are from other background mostly Brahmins, Jain, and Muslim of mix community. it has the women's factory most popular for its papad production and the lively hood depends on the earnings of the hard work done by women of valod which was started in the 60s by kiku shah.the mahila ghru udhyog .most president and prime minister have visited the town for election purpose situated at 21*04.57.03 N and 73*15.06.65 E. people are most educated through local high school and primary school and at present have IT college and science college on bardoli rd. valod has a tropical savanna climate, moderated strongly winds by the Arabian Sea. The summer begins in early March and lasts till June. April and May are the hottest months, the average maximum temperature being 40 °C (104 °F). Monsoon begins in late June and the town receives about 1,000 millimetres (39 in) of rain by the end of September, with the average maximum being 32 °C (90 °F) during those months. October and November see the retreat of the monsoon and a return of high temperatures till late November. Winter starts in December and ends in late February, with average temperatures of around 23 °C (73 °F), and little rain.
Very often heavy monsoon rain brings floods in the valmiki basin area. In last two decades, the town has witnessed major floods every four years, the worst being the flood in the month of August perhaps the costliest in the town's history. According to a report released by Indian Institute of Management –there are about five mosques in the town mostly known to the town as the best in the area
