Valmont Academy
Valmont Academy is a K-12 School located in King's Point, Newfoundland and Labrador. The school has an approximate population of 150 students, which includes students from these areas: King's Point, Rattling Brook, and the Harry's Harbour area. All of these communities are located in scenic Green Bay. The staff currently (09-10) consists of 16 teachers and 4 support staff. The school has a well-equipped science laboratory and two computer technology labs with internet access. In addition to their extensive academic program, they offer a variety of extracurricular activities.
School activities
Valmont Academy has many sports and activities to offer its student, including: softball, soccer, volleyball, table tennis, basketball, cheerleading, drama club and others.
School spirit
The school's colours are red, black and white. The school mascot is The Viking.
Although Valmont Academy is a rather small school, their school spirit is anything but small; there is a cheerleading squad plus most students show up to games and tournaments to cheer on and support their athletes, and school spirit is also shown by having spirit days where students are all asked to wear red, black, and white to show support and school spirit.
