Vallensbæk Kommune is a municipality (Danish, kommune) in Region Hovedstaden on the east coast of the island of Zealand (Sjælland) in eastern Denmark.

Overview

The municipality covers an area of 9.49 km² (2013), according to Municipal Key Figures (De Kommunale Nøgletal (www.noegletal.dk)), and has a population of 15204 (1 January 2015). Its mayor is Henrik Rasmussen, a member of the Conservative People's Party (Det Konservative Folkeparti) political party.

The main town and the site of its municipal council is the town of Vallensbæk.

Vallensbæk municipality was not merged with other municipalities on January 1, 2007 as the result of nationwide Kommunalreformen ("The Municipal Reform" of 2007).

The municipality has a beach, a marina, and the Vallensbæk Marsh (Vallensbæk Mose) recreation area.

The town has three schools: Pilehave school (North Field), Vallensbæk school (village) and Egholm School (Beach).
