Miss Earth 2014

"I want emphasize our guideline - Beauties for a cause. Using beauty and knowledge to create awareness of those in need, support humanitarian and ecological projects and fight the injustice in our world - that is what I stand for."

—Valerie Huber's message for Miss Earth.

By winning Miss Earth Austria, Valerie flew to the Philippines in November to compete with almost 100 other candidates to be Alyz Henrich's[3][4] successor as Miss Earth.

As a Miss Earth delegate, an environmental advocacy is must. When she was asked about her advocacy for the pageant, she mentioned different projects. One of which is the "Eco-blocking" project. This project is all about turning the plastic into chairs and desks for schools. She also said about her support she gives to Katia Wagner's project where Katia was able to travel to the Philippines to expand her project.

When she was asked about what to promote in her country, Austria, Valerie answered that Vienna is one of the most beautiful places. She also adds, "It has also been voted to the city with the highest living standards of the world once again in 2014. Austria has the perfect mixture of everything. Austria is a pretty wealthy country with good living quality, amazing public transportation, high security, a great social system, etc. The untouched nature on the countryside is full of forests, lakes and mountains, so beautiful it seems unreal. All in all Austria, and specifically Vienna is the perfect city to live in."

At the conclusion of the pageant, she was unplaced. The Miss Earth 2014 title was won by Jamie Herrell of the Philippines.[5][6][7]
