Valerian Shiukashvili

Valerian Shiukashvili, a Georgian pianist, was born in Tbilisi on November 11, 1975.

Education/Qualifications

2007 Finished his post graduate study at Tbilisi State Conservatoire under prof N. Khubutia.
2003 Graduated from the Tbilisi State Conservatoire with the master's degree under prof. N. Khubutia.
2001 Graduated from the Tbilisi State Conservatoire with the bachelor's degree under prof. N. Gabunia.
1994-2000 Took master classes of Prof. Moscow State Conservatoire: N. Makarova, A. Nasedkin, E. Malinin, N. Shtarkman, E. Virsaladze.
1994 Graduated from Z. Paliashvili Tbilisi Central Music School.
1993 Graduated from P. Tchaikovsky Moscow Central Music School.
1987 At the age of 12 he started with his piano lessons at Z. Paliashvili Tbilisi Central Music School under prof. D. Tsintsadze.

2004 - Grand Prix at the Helena Sa e Costa International Piano Competition, (Portugal).
2001 - State Award "Tsinandali" at the State Award Ceremony, Tbilisi (Georgia).
2001 - Grand Prix at the Maria Yudina International Piano Competition. Sankt-Petersburg (Russia).
2000 - Grand Prix at the Peter the Great Festival in Groningen (The Netherlands).
1998 - Grand Prix at the Third Bulgarian International Competition in Dobrich (Bulgaria).
1998 - First Prize at the First International Piano Competition dedicated to 50 years anniversary declaration of Israel as a State in Beer-Sheva (Israel).
1997 - Third Prize at the First Tbilisi International Piano Competition (Georgia).
1995 - Grand Prix at the Belarusian International Festival in Minsk (Belarus).
1992 – Diploma at the First Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians in Moscow (Russia)
1992 - Third Prize at the Union-wide Competition in Vladimir (Russia).

Employment to date

Valerian Shiukashvili participated in many international music festivals and competitions.[1][2] He serves as a jury member for various National and International piano competition and festivals. He also gives master classes. Valerian Shiukashvili had performances as a soloist and also with orchestras in Georgia, Russia, Europe, Japan, Israel and other countries. He is a: Laureate of the International Charitable Program “New Names”; Soloist of Djansug Kakhidze Tbilisi Center for Music & Culture; Founder and General Director of Nodar Gabunia National Piano Competition; Vice-president of European Piano Teachers Association in Georgia (EPTA-Georgia); General Director of Art Academy Georgia He has TV, Radio and CD recordings.[3][4][5]
