Valencia, is the working title of an American thriller film directed by Dan Trachtenberg and written by Daniel Casey, based on the script by Josh Campbell and Matthew Stuecken. The film, due for release in 2016, was originally called the The Cellar. With a budget of $5 million,[1] it stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead, John Goodman and John Gallagher, Jr.

Plot summary

After a car accident, a young woman comes to in an underground cellar, where most of the action takes place. She fears she has been abducted by survivalist, who tells her he saved her life and that a chemical attack has left the outside world uninhabitable. Uncertain what to believe, she decides she must escape, whatever dangers she may face outside.[2] “As it goes on, it gets progressively darker and darker, and less and less funny, and weirder,” Winstead told the 'Collider' movie news website.[3]

Principal photography on the film began on October 20, 2014 in New Orleans, Louisiana.[4] Filming ended on December 15, 2014.[5]
