Vahe Stepanyan (Armenian: Վահե Ստեփանյան; born 6 April 1948 in Stepanakert) is an Armenian lawyer, Doctor of Laws, who was the first minister of justice of the third Republic of Armenia. [1]


Biography

1972 - Graduated from Law Department of Yerevan State University.

1972-1973 - Served in Soviet Armed Forces.

1973-1978 - Studied in Research Institute of the Ministry of Justice of USSR in Moscow and in 1978 earned his degree of "Candidate of Judicial Science"

1988 - Earned his degree of "Doctor of Judicial Science" from Research Institute of the Ministry of Justice of USSR in Moscow

1977-1990 - Worked in the Institute of Legal and Philosophical Studies of Armenia

1990-1995 - Served as Vice-chairman of the Constitutional Commission of the RA. He was one of the authors of the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia

1990-1996 - Served as the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia

1996-1997 - Served as the vice-chairman of the Constitutional Court of Armenia

1997-2008 - Served as the Head of the Chair of International and National Law of the Public Administration Academy of Armenia

1999-2004 - Served as the President of the Permanent Court of the Union of Banks

2003-2006 - Served as the Provost of the Public Administration Academy of Armenia

2008-2011 - Served as the Head of Staff of the Ombudsman’s Office.[2]

2011-Present - Works as the Head of the Chair of Jurisprudence and its Teaching Methods of the Armenian State Pedagogical University named after K. Abovyan

2013 - Was appointed by the President of the Republic of Armenia to the position of Legal-Scholar Member of the Council of Justice of the Republic of Armenia
