VP-48

VP-48 insignia

VP-48 was a long-lived Patrol Squadron of the U.S. Navy, nicknamed the Boomerangers from 1975 to 1980, and the Boomers from 1981 to 1991. It was the second squadron to bear the VP-48 designation, which it held for 37 years. This article is about the second VP-48, but includes the lineage of the first one.
