Usman "Uzzy" Ahmed (was born 21 November 1981) is an English Professional Boxer from Derbyshire, England.

He was former British Masters, English, British and Commonwealth Super flyweight title challenger.[1]

Ahmed currently resides in Derbyshire, England, and is British Pakistani.

Professional career

British and Commonwealth title

Uzzy Ahmed was defeated by Chris Edwards by way of decision whilst challenging for the British and Commonwealth title.

English flyweight title

Then undefeated Ashley Sexton knocked the Derby based fighter out in the first round of their fight for the English flyweight title, it was the only knock-out of Ahmed's career. Footage from the bout went viral including Ahmeds over confident ring entrance followed by his speedy knockout [2] Ahmed went onto claim he 'gave a lot of weight away' during both fights, and stated that both boxers were a stone heavier than him, he said with the help of a nutritionist he's got the full weight on.[3]

Sky Sports Prizefighter

He participated in Sky Sports Prizefighter, and was defeated by Don Broadhurst in the quarterfinal.[4] 654

British Masters flyweight title

Ahmed fought for the vacant British Masters flyweight title in May 2013 against undefeated Jason Cunningham, he was pulled out of the fight in the 4th round, and Cunningham awarded the fight by way of Referee technical decision.[5]

International Masters title

In July 2010, Ahmed was scheduled to fight Luke Wilton in a rematch on their fight in Doncaster, England. However, Ahmed failed to attend the weigh-in on 1 July, thus cancelling the fight.[6] On 28 June 2013, in what could have be a final attempt at reviving his tarnishing career, Ahmed was to take on former conqueror Luke Wilton for the International Masters super-flyweight title, however the fight was again called off.

Potential Bouts

Ahmed has been called out by rival Louis Norman, who defeated former undefeated British Pakistani Mohammed Waqas for the British Masters flyweight title.[7] Norman stated; "...I’ve got a title now so if he wants titles he should come and fight me...I am so confident of beating him I will even box him with an arm behind my back..."[8]
