Usersnap is a privately held Austrian web application startup based in Perg, Austria. The firm develops a visual feedback and Bug Tracking System for web browsers.

Founded in March 2013 by Florian Dorfbauer, his brother Gregor Dorfbauer and Josef Trauner, Usersnap is a browser-based Issue Tracking System and Bug Tracking System.[1][2] In 2013 Usersnap raised an investment from SpeedInvest.[3] SpeedInvest, founded by Oliver Holle is an Austrian investment company, investing in rising startups, but also providing entrepreneurial know-how and operational experience.

Recently, Usersnap was mentioned in a Forbes article by Alison Coleman as one of the European startups to watch.[4] Austria was named as one of the upcoming European Startup Hotspots and Usersnap was named as a new name to watch.

History

The two brothers, Florian and Gregor Dorfbauer, were working together professionally for six years before founding Usersnap. The co-founder Josef Trauner has been a close friend to the brothers. The idea behind Usersnap resulted from the work in developing web applications where the founders faced different communication problems.[5]

The product emerged from their vision to make web development more efficient and pleasant. Since not finding any existing solution on the market and seeing the potential of a visual bug tracking tool the three co-founders started to build Usersnap in early 2012.

Bug Tracking Software

The developed widget can be added to any website in order to use it as a Bug Tracking System in your web browsers. It enables web developers to improve the Q&A process for web projects.[6][7] The bug tracker creates screenshots of the current browser content. It helps to communicate on issues and share feedback between developers, customers and everyone involved in a web project. Screenshots, the used browser version and a lot of additional information help web developers to solve web issues.[8]
