Urophyllum ellipticum is a species of plant in the Rubiaceae family. It is endemic to Sri Lanka.
Leaves
large, lanceolate, acuminate, ends pointed, veins prominent beneath.
Trunk
branches cylindrical, stiff, glabrous, young branches 4-angled, pubescent.
Flowers
white, crowded on short pedicels; Inflorescence - cymes small, nearly sessile.
Fruits
dull orange-yellow, small berry, crowned by calyx rim.
Ecology
montane and rain forest understory.
