Upton State Forest is a state forest of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts located mostly in Upton and Hopkinton, with a small section in Westborough. It encompasses more than 2,700 acres (1,100 ha) of publicly accessible lands and includes the only remaining Civilian Conservation Corps camp in Massachusetts.^[3]

Activities and amenities

The state forest has trails for hiking, cross-country skiing, mountain biking, and horseback riding. Fishing, restricted hunting, and picniking are also available.^[4]

Facilities

The headquarters and main trailhead are located at 205 Westborough Road in Upton. The headquarters facilities were built by the Civilian Conservation Corps between 1935 and 1938^[3] and were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014.^[5]^[6]
