Up on the Sun is the third album by the Meat Puppets, released in 1985 by SST Records. In 1999 the album was reissued on Rykodisc with bonus tracks and recording notes. The band performed the album live in its entirety at the request of Animal Collective at the All Tomorrow's Parties festival that they curated in May 2011.^[4]

Recording and release

Recording took place from January 26 to 28, 1985, at Total Access Studios in Redondo Beach, California. Engineering was by SST's house engineer Spot, who had done the job on the band's first two albums. Up on the Sun was released in March 1985.^[5]
