Untsukulsky District (Russian: Унцукульский райо́н; Avar: Унсоколо район) is an administrative[1] and municipal[2] district (raion), one of the forty-one in the Republic of Dagestan, Russia. It is located in the center of the republic. The area of the district is 560 square kilometers (220 sq mi). Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Untsukul.[1] Population: 29,547 (2010 Census);[3] 27,460 (2002 Census);[6] 16,105 (1989 Census).[7] The population of Untsukul accounts for 21.2% of the district's total population.[3]
