University of Kashan
The University of Kashan, located in the city of Kashan in Iran, 230 kilometers south of the capital of Tehran. Educating an estimated 6,000 students in many different fields including engineering, physics, mathematics, chemistry, art, and humanities.

General information
The University of Kashan was founded as the first institution of higher education in 1973. It began its activities in October, 1974 by 200 students of mathematics and physics. In 1989 more academic fields started and the institution continued its activities as Kashan Teacher-Training University under the supervision of the Ministry of Science. In 1994 by offering engineering disciplines, the university was acknowledged by the Ministry of Science as a main university. In 1995 Architecture and Arts College was added to the university with an emphasis on the needs, local art and industries of the region. Chemistry faculty as the 5th college after Science, Humanities, Engineering, Architecture and Arts Colleges, was founded in 2008. Currently the University of Kashan, within the boundary of 530 hectares and with 80000 square meters of infrastructure (building), in addition to educational campus, provides leisure, services and sports facilities, dormitory complex, the university canteen complex, amphitheatre, green spaces, mosque, study halls and health-care center. Besides the five mentioned colleges, there are three active research institutes of Nano Technology, Natural Essential Oils and Energy and also three Research Centers of Kashan studies, Carpet and Astronomy that contribute to the fact that the University of Kashan in recent years has been among the ten top universities. Accommodating about 7600 students in 50 disciplines of undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate levels and having about 175 full-time energetic faculty members, the university is approaching the clear future horizons.
