The 2016 United States House of Representatives elections in Maryland will be held on November 8, 2016, to elect the eight U.S. Representatives from the state of Maryland, one from each of the state's eight congressional districts. The elections will coincide with the 2016 U.S. presidential election, as well as other elections to the House of Representatives, elections to the United States Senate and various state and local elections.
District 1
Incumbent Representative Andy Harris, a member of the Republican Party, has represented the district since 2011. Harris is considering a run for the U.S. Senate.[1]
Former State Delegate Michael Smigiel may run in the Republican primary.[2]
District 4
Incumbent Representative Donna Edwards, a member of the Democratic Party, has represented the district since 2008. Edwards will not run for reelection, so that she can run for the United States Senate seat being vacated by Barbara Mikulski, who is retiring.[3]

Incumbent Representative Steny Hoyer, the House Minority Whip, has represented the district since 1981. He was re-elected with 64% percent of the vote in 2014 and the district has a PVI of D+14. Former United States Navy SEAL Kristin Beck is running in the Democratic primary.[12]
District 6
Incumbent Representative John Delaney, a member of the Democratic Party, has represented the district since 2013. Delaney is considering running for the U.S. Senate.[13]

Incumbent Representative Chris Van Hollen, a member of the Democratic Party, has represented the district since 2003. Van Hollen will not run for reelection, so that he can run for the United States Senate seat being vacated by Barbara Mikulski, who is retiring.[17] Marriott International executive Kathleen Matthews is expected to run for the Democratic nomination.[18]
