The United Kingdom general election, 2015, will be held on 7 May 2015 across 533 constituencies within England.

Political context

The general election will be fought in the aftermath of the UKIP winning the 2014 European elections in England the first time neither Labour or Conservative were not the largest winning party to win an election and Scotland rejecting Scottish independence. Since 2010, a number of changes have occurred. Two Conservative MP's defected to UKIP whilst George Galloway of the Respect Party won the Bradford West by-election, 2012 from Labour.

Contesting parties

Since 2010, the Conservatives and the Liberal Democrats have been in coalition with Labour being the main opposition and going into the election the Conservatives hold the majority of English seats.
