Uncle Beazley is a fiberglass statue of a triceratops by Louis Paul Jonas. It is located at the National Zoological Park, near Lemur Island, Northwest, Washington, D.C.
Originally created for The Enormous Egg television show in 1968. It was donated to the Smithsonian Institution by the Sinclair Oil Corporation. It was located at the National Zoo, the Anacostia Neighborhood Museum, and then the National Museum of Natural History, until 1994. [1]
From 1994 to 2003, the statue was located at the rhinoceros yard at the National Zoo. In 2007, it was refurbished and reinstalled at Lemur Island. [2][3] In May 4, 2011, it was refurbished again.[4]
