Un Dia De Octubre
Un Día de Octubre is a Mexican music group. It was created on 4 April 2006 in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico, with distinct ideas among its members about performing at their best, creating a new style, with innovation and high quality.
The name of "Un Día de Octubre" ("One Day in October") arose from conversations among the members about the lyrics of the songs, because most women talk about both the lack of love, conquest and grievances, concluding that all happened in October. They recalled old talks with former lovers, broken promises, words of love and past experiences with them formed their lyrics, looking for originality with them, good quality and promoting the culture, making it an influence to future artists, filled with harmony for all people and giving a passion for life in the compositions.
Un Día de Octubre has been well-accepted and not just in their native city (Juarez, Mexico), but also outside it, being invited to participate in various events such as the International Festival Chihuahua for two consecutive years (2008 and 2009). The group has visited several municipalities, at the opening concert for the Rock for Peace Festival, as well as at bars and private parties in Albuquerque and El Paso, Texas, the anniversary of Burger King in Phoenix, also appearing at the Hard Rock Cafe in Guadalajara, as well as the Pemex Pyramid Ska Festival (sharing the stage with minimum wage and Panteón Rococó) in Mexico City).
Their first album was named "Alameda Reyna", recorded in a local studio. However, in mid-December 2009, they were to re-record the album at Sonic Ranch, one of the top five recording studios in the world, located in Tornillo, Texas.
Three songs were played on the radio (106.7 FM): "Desde que no estas" ("Since You Are Not"), "Sabor Cereza" ("Cherry Flavor") and "De Norte A Sur" ("From North to South"), placed with national and international rock bands and not just as local.
Members
The following are the band members:
- Victor Pinon (vocals and guitar) with influences of Jaguares, Cerati, Heroes del silencio, and from a family of musicians, northerners seeking their own style of music; since the beginning as the vocalist, he did not promise much, being that his voice had still not enough maturity, now with an optimum pitch as was discovered that was rare to hear on vocals.
- Luis Pinon (vocals,accordion),accompanied Victor as a second voice, with influences from nortena music, with changing tastes in music during his stay with the group.
- Rogelio Montes (drums), the most intrepid of the band with a great musical influence, always looking for new rhythms, from the heart. He has contributed much to the music.
