Ullam Kollai Pogudhada is Tamil-language soap opera on Indian television which runs on Polimer TV from 10 dec, 2012 .The show explores the worlds of its protagonists Priya (Sakshi Tanwar) and Ram Kumar (Ram Kapoor), who accidentally discover love after getting married.After the storyline moved five years ahead in dec 2013, many new actors and characters, including Samir Kochhar and Amrita Mukherjee who played the roles of Ranjith and meenu respectively, were introduced.
Sakshi Tanwar and Ram Kappor received the Dadasaheb Phalke Academy Award for portraying their respective roles in the soap opera while Ekta Kapoor received the Best Producer award. The show is the dubbed version of the serial Bade Achhe Lagte Hain
Plot
Ram Kumar (Ram Kapoor) is a well-reputed, rich and powerful businessman in his early 40s. Priya (Sakshi Tanwar), who is in her late 30s, comes from a middle-class family. She is sensible, philosophical and more mature than Ram. The story begins when Ram's younger step sister Nanditha (Sumona Chakravarti) and Priya's younger brother Kartik (Mohit Malhotra), who fall in love with each other. Kartik does not think he should marry before his older sister marries. To solve this problem, Ram agrees to marry Priya to allow Kartik and Nanditha marry. Initially, Ram and Priya dislike each other but as time passes and they spend more time with one another and they begin to respect and love each other. However, their relationship remains difficult—every time Priya and Ram grow closer, problems arise and drive them apart. As the story progresses, several antagonists are introduced.
