Uckfield Community Technology College (UCTC) is a community college situated in Uckfield, UK. It has approximately 1,600 students, including 360 in the sixth form college.[3]
The school motto is "Realising Potential". The logo is a white prism; white light going in on one end and a rainbow coming out of the other.
The current principal is Hugh Hennebry, who replaced Craig Pamphilon at the beginning of September 2008.
The school has educational links with New York, Boston, Germany and Ghana, and has now formed a link with India as well. In addition to these, each year students from the college take part in an exchange with students from Bismarckschule in Elmshorn, Germany.
The school runs several annual educational events, including an annual UN recreation in the main hall called "MUNGA" (Model United Nations General Assembly), as well as international educational trips and several drama performances that take place throughout the year.
Chromebook Scheme
The school started a Chromebook scheme[4] as an alternative to iPad's. They have chosen Chromebooks as they have better access to Google Apps for Education and access to Google Classroom, the school's new alternative to homework planners. The Chromebook chosen is the Lenovo 11e Yoga.
