The first USS Steinaker (DE-452) was a proposed World War II United States Navy John C. Butler-class destroyer escort that was never completed.
Steinaker was laid down at Federal Shipbuilding and Drydock Company at Newark, New Jersey, but her construction was cancelled on 6 June 1944.
The name Steinaker was reassigned to destroyer USS Steinaker (DD-863).
